Togo has a tropical climate with dry winters and lots of rains. The rainy season starts in April and goes on till October in the central region while in the north it is from May to October. Around the coast, however, there is a fall in rainfall and it lasts from July to September. In summers, humidity levels are highest but temperatures are lowest.

Located in North Togo, Keran National Park was established in 1971 to safeguard the Keran National Reserve and Oti reserve. A nature lover would enjoy visiting the Keran National Park which is home to African elephants, olive baboon and Nile crocodiles along with some waterbirds like crowned cranes and black stork.
Located close to the capital city of Lome, Lake Togo is the center for voodoo culture with many voodoo ‘fetishes’ found in the villages. It has shallow waters making it ideal for water-sports. You should take a boat ride along the lake and also visit the ancient German Cathedral and shrines along with the traditional museum of the King of Togoville.

There are many palaces and museums to explore as well including; the National Museum exhibiting local jewelry, masks,pottery and musical instruments. People interested and intrigued by voodoo can visit the Akodésséwa Fetish Market where voodoo items such as animal skulls and skin are sold.
